Build Team

Our Build Team is responsible for creating the large scale props and structures that you interact with at our events.

This team arrives on site ahead of everyone else to get everything ready for the game.

Once the game starts, the Build Team is free to play the game.


Skills and Experience

Members of the build team need practical and creative experience. This may include art and design, woodworking, construction and other relevant skills.

On applying, you may be asked to provide us with a portfolio of your work.

You are also able to use your time on build to enhance your own portfolio and gain experience in prop making and design.


Site Arrival and Departure

This table sets out when you are expected to be on site

Event Arrival Departure
Event 1 Sunday evening prior to the start of the event Wednesday after the end of the event
Event 2 Wednesday morning prior to the start of the event Wednesday after the end of the event
Event 3 Tuesday evening prior to the start of the event Wednesday after the end of the event
Event 4 Monday morning prior to the start of the event Wednesday after the end of the event


What the role involves

As a member of the Build Team, your role will include the following activities:

  • Support Logistics team, including loading and unloading lorries and distribution of equipment
  • Design and build large props to be used at the event
  • Working with power tools
  • Painting
  • Distribution of the build around site as needed
  • Observe basic Health and Safety procedures
  • Cleaning and maintenance of tools, workspace and prop storage


You will also be expected to attend planning meetings between events where possible and keep yourself up to date with the relevant Curious Pastimes policies and procedures.
