Camping at our events
Most people attending our events also camp with us overnight. At both of our sites, there is designated area for out of character camping which is separate from the game area.
Space is often tight at our events, especially at Paccar so we ask you to follow these guidelines:
- Please do not camp within the marked out emergency lanes. These must be kept clear to allow access for emergency vehicles
- Please do not leave any more space around your tent than you need for access.
- Be considerate of others while camping. Try to keep the noise in these areas to a minimum, especially overnight.
- Camping next to your vehicle is not permitted.
- Please do not leave your tent behind at the end of the event.
- Make sure you use the skips provided for your rubbish.
Accessible Camping
An accessible camping area is provided at all of our events for those of you who need to camp near to the facilities.
The space we have is often limited, especially at Paccar. It is important that you take care not to waste space when you are pitching your tents to make sure everyone who needs this area can access it.
Accessible camping is always located on the edge of the out of character camping field, closest to the toilet and shower blocks, Event HQ and the IC areas.
A form is issued ahead of each event for you to complete if you need to camp within the accessible camping area. This will help us to plan enough space for those using this area. Completing this form does not reserve or guarantee you a space in these areas and is used as a guide for the Event Team for likely numbers and space requirements.
Caravans and Campervans
We understand that some of you prefer to bring your caravans or campervans instead of pitching a tent. We will always provide an area for caravan/campervan pitching.
A form is issued ahead of each event for you to complete if you plan to bring a campervan or caravan so that we can allocate the space needed. Completing this form does not reserve or guarantee you a space in these areas and is used as a guide for the Event Team for likely numbers and space requirements.
Power Provision
We understand that some of you will need access to power to support medical devices and, due to the nature of the sites we use, there are limitations to the power that we can supply.
We will provide a form ahead of each event that will need to be completed to let us know if:
- You are bringing a caravan/campervan or similar that needs power to be provided for medical reasons
- You are camping and require power to be provided for medical reasons
We can only provide power where it is necessary for medical reasons and cannot extend power provision to the in game area.
Please be aware that the power provision at Weston Park is through generators so we cannot guarantee a continuous supply.
Power will be provided through a 16A 3-pin CEE Socket so you may need to bring a ceeform to three-pin adapter to be able to plug in your devices. We do have a supply of adapters but cannot guarantee availability as they are often not returned to us at the end of events. if you do borrow an adaptor from us, please make sure you return it before you leave site.
We are also able to charge power packs, batteries and devices during the day, and can provide fridge space for medications if you need it. Please speak to someone at Event HQ when you get to site if you require either of these and make sure your items are clearly labelled.
Camping In Character
We want our game space to look and feel like the world our characters are from. Any tents pitched within this space should look and feel like it belongs in our game world.
If you want to pitch your tents within the game area, you will need to follow these rules:
- All tents within the game area must look and feel in character
- All group or personal tents in the game area must be pitched within your designated faction space
- Any tents being pitched in faction spaces must:
- Have permission from the relevant Faction Command Team
- Be pitched as directed by the relevant Faction Command Team or Referees overseeing the faction set up
Most factions will share a form (or equivalent) ahead of each event to identify who is expecting to bring tents to be pitched in the faction space. The referee teams then use this information to plan out their faction camping to make the best use of the space.
We won’t always be able fit all of the requested tents within the In Character areas due to space limitations and game requirements. Priority will often be given to tents that used as in character spaces during the game and to meet any childcare or accessibility needs.
