Curious Pastimes are currently using two different sites to host our events:

• Paccar Scout Camp (events 1 and 3)
• Weston Park (events 2 and 4)

The layout of the sites will change by event and communications will be issued ahead of each event to let you know the faction layout and any other changes to how we are using the site

We will share this information on:

• our blog and
• our social media channels

This is particularly important for Weston Park as we will change how we are using the site at each event.

Paccar Scout Camp

Paccar Scout Camp

Paccar Scout Camp is a 60 acre camp site set in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, close to historic Chalfont St. Peter. It is only 30 mins from London and close to Heathrow Airport.

On-Site Facilities

We provide several different types of facilities at Paccar Scout Camp:

Permanent structures:

The main toilet block includes:

• Toilets
• Showers
• Accessible toilets

The accessible toilets in the main toilet block have a coded lock to access these facilities. Please ask at Event HQ for the code if you need access.

There is also an additional toilet blocks near to Monster HQ (the teepee glade).

Additional facilities:

Additional shower blocks will be provided near to the Out of Character camping field

Portaloos will be available around site, including accessible units

Water:

Standpipes are in place around the site to provide fresh, running water.

These facilities are all managed by our Event team and are serviced each day. If you find a problem with any of these facilities, please speak to us at Event HQ or let one of your referee team know.

Please be aware that, anyone caught vandalising or stealing from any of the on site facilities will be removed from site.

Weston Park

Weston Park is a remarkable House set in 1,000 acres of Capability Brown parkland. Curious Pastimes only hire part of this site so it is important you follow the directions provided to access the correct area.

This address will take you to the main Weston Park entrance.

Getting to site

We have a dedicated site entrance to be used to access the site.

• This means that you will not be able to access the event through the main Weston Park entrance.
• When arriving at Weston Park please use the Shrewsbury Gates entrance.

Due to the rural location of Weston Park, there isn’t a postcode that you enter into your satnav that will take you directly to the Shrewsbury Gates entrance. Here are some suggestions that may help you to find us:

• Postcode TF11 8PX: this will take you closer to the correct gate still won’t get you exactly there.
• Map: The map below shows the gate location and the entrances to avoid.
• What3Words: ///willing.recount.merely

Please be aware that the part of the site we are using may not be close to the entrance gates. This is a large site and we will only be using a small part of it for our events.

Where to go

We are likely to be using the site differently at each event held at Weston Park. We will make sure there are signs directing you to where you need to go when you arrive on site.

We will also share specific information for each event through our blog and social media posts to let you know where to go.

Leaving Site at Night

The main gate to site will be locked from midnight every night, using a coded lock.

Please speak to the Event Team at Event HQ if you require the code before leaving site or need any help managing the lock and gates.

Event Front Gate

The Front Gate for the event will be located on the edge of the Out of Character camping field.

When arriving on site, you will need to follow the signposted road until you are met by members of the Event Team. Please be aware that we might not be using the same area on site for each event so please follow the signs carefully.

If you have pre-booked your tickets, you will be checked in from your vehicle.

If you are paying for your ticket on the gate, you will be directed where to park so you can buy your tickets at the front gate tent.

Members of the Event team, wearing yellow hi-vis, will help direct you as you move through the site so you can unload, park your vehicle and pitch your tents in the right areas.

Whilst the site has excellent drainage and we do not foresee any issues. If the weather is particularly bad and we have to limit vehicle access to the In Character field, we will be organising multi-vehicle shuttle runs from the nearest hardstanding to the In Character field for player kit.

Please be aware that tents are not allowed in the car parking field.

On-Site Facilities

Weston Park doesn’t have permanent provision for an event of our size. As such, we hire in the facilities we need.

Infrastructure we bring in for the event:

• Generators for power
• Plumbing for toilets, showers and sinks
• Plumbing around the site for standpipes to provide drinking water

Facilities provided:

• Toilet blocks with urinals and cubicles
• Accessible toilets with ramped access, wider doors and changing tables
• Portaloos will be available around site
• Shower blocks
• Individual accessible showers
• Sinks for hand-washing will also be provided outside of the toilet blocks

Please do not use the sinks for washing crockery and cutlery as we do not have the drainage to handle this type of waste water.
