Name Arcane Champion
Cost 12 points
Prerequisites Warrior Archetype, Armoured Caster, and at least one of Corporeal Spellcasting, Elemental Spellcasting or Spiritual Spellcasting
Key Words Archetype / Warrior / Stamina / Pinnacle
Description The Arcane Champion channels their spellcasting through their weapon, imbuing it with magical force. By spending 2 stamina and the normal magic point cost, the Arcane Champion may cast one of the following spells directly onto a weapon they are holding:

The spell lasts for its normal duration, provided the Arcane Champion continues to hold the weapon. The spell ends immediately if the weapon leaves their hand, and cannot be transferred to another character. All other rules for the spell apply, including the required vocal component and standard restrictions: the spell cannot be cast on a weapon that is already enchanted by any means, or one crafted from cold iron.

Casting these spells follows the standard rules for casting greater spells in armour (see Armoured Caster), including any additional stamina costs for doing so.

While the spell is active, the Arcane Champion may use their other warrior stamina skills with the enchanted weapon, at the normal stamina cost for each skill used. This skill specifically permits those calls to stack with the weapon's magical call.

Example: A character with Arcane Champion, Duellist and Corporeal Spellcasting casts Corporeal Weapon. While the spell is active, they may:

  • Strike for "Corporeal"
  • Spend 2 stamina to call "Corporeal Through" (using the Duellist skill, with the weapon's call replacing the usual Mundane call)

Note: The number of stamina points the character receives each day depends on how many skills they know that use them, see Magic Points, Stamina and Work Units.

Note: Pinnacle Skill — a character may only have one Pinnacle skill.

Progression None
